If you are like me & once in awhile actually enjoy putting on depressing, sad movies to cry (cause sometimes you need a good cry) this movie is just for that!... So back when Borders Bookstore was closing & basically giving away books I came across this book, Sarah's Key by Tatiana De Rosnay .

It caught my attention cause it was a fictional story based on real events during World War 2. Since I love anything that has to do with WW2 I took it home. I only read it once back in 2010 but it is a story I will never forget.

Never heard of the Vel d'Hiv roundup the capture & deportment of Jews by the French. I wasn't even aware France participated in the Holocaust. Now I know people don't read much or hate reading or don't have time to read but this is one I will beg you to please read before the movie.

While the movie is beautiful & thought did a great job capturing the story, the layout in the book was far more impactful than the movie. I strongly urge you to read this first. But if you don't listen to me & watch the movie 1st, it will still hit you.

So sad & devastating. The acting is amazing. Kristen Scott Thomas is beautiful & the young Sarah is perfect. The music is beautiful & the direction is very visually pleasing. There are some slow parts but nothing too bad.

The ending of the movie, those words will bring you to tears. The story will have you thinking about it long after you see/read it.
