Review of Santa Sangre (1989) by Medha G — 02 Feb 2008
Quite imaginative, like much of Jodorowsky's work, yet far more accessible than El Topo or The Holy Mountain. A circus perspective on Oedipal relations. A bit clunky towards the end, but each scene separately is quite powerful and fantastic, especially the "burial" of the elephant and the stage dance.
Recommended if you want something out of the ordinary or an admirer of Jodorowsky's cinema.
