Review of Santa Sangre (1989) by Alec B — 13 Feb 2018
A powerfully political yet deeply personal film imbued with themes of Freudian maternal sexual control and self loathing, with heavy doses of artistic Gaillo violence. Jordowosky's most accessible film is as strikingly profound as the earlier world in his filmography.
Santa Sangre , to put it simply, is a film with many layers.
