Review of Rush Hour (1941) by Faisal A — 25 May 2012
It really is just an average buddy comedy, with average writing and humour. Chris Tucker can be both charming and annoying, but with Jackie Chan, Tom Wilkinson, Tzi Ma and others to make up for any bad acting around, the film still manages to succeed.
I really do think the only reason this film is a classic of sorts, is the dynamic and chemistry between Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. A good film but nothing more, and if it were not for the relationship between the two comedians, this could have easily been more at home as a straight-to-video event.
