Review of Rush Hour (1941) by Jon C — 17 Sep 2018
Actually so much damn fun!
Chris Rock is very hysterical and Jackie Chan's fighting style is impressive as always.
Everything that makes this buddy comedy soar from cool action to funny chemistry between the two leads.
After a diplomat's daughter is kidnapped an LAPD officer, Carter is asked to join the FBI yet his assignment is a Chinese officer Lee who has a connection to the father.
He's not interested in taking a partner but it looks like he doesnt have a choice to avoid suspension.
Tucker has some of the best lines in this thing, Chan is really good as being silent, kept to himself but actually proving he's good in a fight.
There's not a lot of time with Tom Wilkinson as the villain though.
The little girl is actually quite capable of fending for herself, too.
This was one of Brett Ratner's earlier more enjoyable works.
It's held up extraordinarily well.
