A spectacle without the spectacle, Max Steel struggles to create it's own identity. Amidst the Transformers and Iron Mans, this simply lacks imagination, humour and suffers from a corpse-like pacing.
More like a failed pilot for a TV show than a movie, it's half-baked, time-wasting curtain-raiser for a superhero franchise that is never, ever going to happen.
