Review of Romulus, My Father (2007) by Ryan D — 11 Nov 2007
Well acted, if stereotypical Australian film. The film benefited from a strong cast that was hamstrung by a sub-standard script.
The scenes were too fragmented. The film tended to lurch between panoramic scenic shots and tedious character interactions. There was too much emphasis on cinematography. This tactic was used to hide the script's shortcomings. Eric Bana was strong, but he and the supporting cast needed more to work with.
Worth a look, but not the masterpiece that many have claimed.
