Review of Romulus, My Father (2007) by Gabriel K — 05 Aug 2009
Surprisingly, it's quite an enjoyable film from Australia with decent role played by Eric Bana and especially the mesmerizing Franka Potente. The film has a very slow pace and is shot beautifully somewhere in the outback.
Although in general, the story is a bit too predictable, at times. Having said that, what will stay with me a long time after I have forgotten the film will definitely be a couple of scenes with Potente.
She manages to portray a German immigrant woman with such conviction that is full of contradictions trying to find her place that I was simply awestruck. Probably one of her best roles so far. Enough reason to check this film out for sure.
