Review of RoboCop 2 (1990) by Michelle H — 23 Nov 2013
This movie was good if you are OK with the level of violence. It is even more violent than Peter Verhovens Total Recall. Lots of people being shot up, death, destruction on a mass scale, torture, and even a graphic autopsy.
The villain in this is a truly twisted and sick fuck drug lord. After his death, they use his brain in a new cyborg design (bad idea) The cyborg runs rampant and robocop has to stop him before he destroys the whole city.
Without a doubt, this film is very nihilistic and dark. There is even a little kid crime boss in it! That being said, the special effects are awesome for the time it was made 1990. There is also some truly moving moments as Robocop comes very close to death and has to confront the truth of what he is .
So aside from the horror level of violence, I found this film to be pretty entertaining, if somewhat bleak as a sequel.
