Review of Rhapsody in August (1991) by Koh M — 03 Apr 2012
Idk why most people said this is one of kurosawa's worst, for me it's not. no matter how 'bad', it still is a film by kurosawa, one of the greatest filmmakers ever lived. it told the beauty of reconciliation: to make peace with past traumas, to accept the loss of loved ones, without being too exploitative (except for the blatantly obvious shirts wore by the kids).
great film.
