Review of Renaissance (2006) by Alister M — 24 Nov 2007
It's so refreshing to see an animation that's not for kids these days. This is a futuristic film-noir, so Blade Runner comparisons are easily made. And yet, despite originating from France, this comes off as less pretentious in terms of plot and presentation.
The plot stays clear throughout the film, and the action sequences aren't gratuitous. Gorgeous art style and lighting. (Note: I watched the original French dubbed version with subtitles).
