Review of Renaissance (2006) by Allan C — 06 Jan 2014
Criticising this movie for its visual style is like criticising ice cream for having cream in it. It fulfils the aim of its ambition gloriously and without mercy. Sure, a few crying babies who want to see something more cosy and formulaic have thrown their toys out of the pram (see the critics review here) but no amount of clever comments can take away from this film's magnificence.
It is perfect, uncompromising art of the kind money rarely allows to be made. Relish it, for it is a rare thing.
