Review of Red Sparrow (2018) by Gloria W — 05 Mar 2018
The critics are overly harsh...this film is a solid, traditional spy story and the acting is quite good. It is engaging and did not feel too long. Expect some grisly torture scenes, and gratuitous sex and violence....but that is part and parcel of traditional spy genre. Good details of spy craft and the intrigue of double agents is well done, in my humble opinion. I enjoyed it and thought it was as good as Atomic Blonde....so maybe it is time for J. Lawrence and.
C. Theron to team up as a duo. Let's hear it for female James Bond characters who can do anything Bond can do, but they can do it in lipstick, high heels, and with empathy for victims of bad guys.
