Review of Red Beard (1965) by Greg T — 04 Jan 2008
Possibly Kurosawa's most political, and humane, film - this is possibly the most affecting 3 hours you will ever spend in the cinema. The tale of an ambitious doctor who is taken under the wing of a garrilous sensei in Feudal Japan invigorates with its warmth, humour and generosity of vision.
