Review of Red Beard (1965) by Rob S — 24 Feb 2011
With Kurosawa again trying his hand at drama, and deservedly so, we get Red Beard. It's a quiet picture window into the world of a famous doctor, with a notorious face. Much more in tune with Ozu's work, Kurosawa shows his soft side and compassion for humanity again, as he did in "Ikiru".
A great cinematic achievement from Kurosawa, again.
