Review of Rebel Without a Cause (1955) by Billy L — 23 Aug 2008
Ehhh, it was not as good as everyone says. I expected alot more, and got alot less. One thing, Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo did NOT deserve their Oscar nominations. They were just ok. Even James was just good, not great.
The scene that proved this was the first scene at the police station ("your tearing me apart!"). That line was said in the worst way possible, even if he was supposed to be drunk. The script is lame, one-dimensional, and just plain boring.
The ending though, is the biggest let down. They all hide out from the cops inside of the mansion, than the kid runs out and gets shot. And it ends. Yes very memorable!
