Review of Rashomon (1950) by Cha T — 28 May 2009
Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece that put Japanese cinema om the global map. Award winning movie starring Toshiro Mifune (Seven Samauri, Yohimbo) and beautiful Machiko Kyo (Teahouse of the August Moon).
A murder tale told through the eyes of the three principles and an outsider. This is moviemaking brought to high art status. There is nothiong in this movies that Kurosawa didn't put there including groundbreaking cinematography.
