Review of Rashomon (1950) by Ashley P — 18 Nov 2010
I enjoyed a few parts of Rashomon. I feel like it had an amazing story plot but they tried too hard to make it good which actually failed in the end. I was really unhappy about the ending of the movie though, it was like the just left us hanging.
This movie had a purpose though. The film wanted to show us how we take everything for granted as humans and we lie to one another all the time. Sometimes we can't help but lie; it is just our human nature to do so.
I honestly do have do agree with the films position on human nature though. Every person out there in the world lies and as much as you don't want to believe it they do and that's what the film showed us.
This movie is pretty good but Seven Samurai had more thought put into it.
