Review of Raising Cain (1992) by Paul B — 08 Feb 2011
One of DePalma's more overt Hitchcock pastiches, it benefits from a sharp (if derivative) script, a fun, tongue-in-cheek sensibility, and a tour-de-force performance from Lithgow, who is both frightening and funny.
Those things are all good, but you can't escape the feeling that this was DePalma essentially taking a day off; it is nowhere near one of his best thrillers.
