Review of Psycho III (1986) by Eric A — 08 Jun 2014
Anthony Perkins directs this second sequel to Psycho, which unfortunately turns out to be an ineffective retread of familiar scenes and archetypes thrown into the framework of, what is by now, a conventional slasher movie - show some skin in front of the camera, you're gonna get it! Not what's expected from Perkins, however, he does allow for some potentially interesting character development, such as Norman's attempts to have a romantic affair, and the growing resentment towards his "mother" as this happens, but when the rest of the film is so devoid of suspense.
