Review of Psycho (2007) by Hiatt N — 02 Dec 2012
Most of Hitchcock's thrillers are class acts. We're drawn in by the genteel, sordid plots and themes. Psycho breaks all those conventions by being a twisted and disturbing genuine horror film. Deeply troubling and haunting, this first of the modern horror movies is incredible.
Its effects on film have been permanent, and whether it's a good or a bad thing is up to the viewer.
