Review of Psycho (2007) by Grayson S — 01 Jan 2013
PSYCHO is certainly Alfred Hitchcock's most well known film, but it certainly isn't his greatest. Very entertaining and quite an experience to watch Anthony Perkins act as Norman Bates, for he is so good in the part.
The greatest part of the movie is the shower scene, however, not for it's long-standing impact on audiences, but for it's precise and masterful cuts and shots. I believe that the shower scene is the one defining scene that all directors should study.
Next time you watch that scene, pay attention to the different angles and shots, my favorite being the one that looks up directly into the shower head that is spraying water all around the camera, but not directly on it.
PSYCHO is another Hitchcock film that is full of great twists and scares, and it will endure for many more years to come. Good film for any person to watch, especially Hitch fans.
