Review of Sunset Boulevard (1950) by Grayson S — 30 Dec 2012
From the opening shot of William Holden face-down in the pool, to the fade-out of Gloria Swanson approaching the camera, this film is superb. Excellent film noir with defining aspects such as the limited setting, the cigarette smoke, and the narration.
Both lead actors are tremendous, with Swanson stealing the show as Norma Desmond, a cooky silent-film actress. This film could be watched numerous times and still never get boring.
