Review of The Untouchables (1987) by Grayson S — 19 Jan 2013
Interesting film, mainly because of Sean Connery and Robert De Niro's acting, and Brian De Palma's excellent directing. Kevin Costner isn't the best, but that's fine because he's normally never in a scene without one of the better actors.
De Palma excellency with a camera shows in this film, from the opening overhead shot of Capone (De Niro) getting a shave, to the masterful tracking shot through Malone's (Connery) house, to the somewhat cheesy staircase/stroller scene.
Good historical fiction film, with a few inaccuracies. Frank Nitti (Drago) is very creepy also.
