Review of Psycho (2007) by Colby H — 31 Jul 2017
As I am watching his movies, Alfred Hitchcock has been slowly becoming my favorite director. His films are masterfully made with a sense of building suspense. Psycho is definitely not an exception. It is about a man named Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) who's mother abused him as a child and grew up to be the owner of a hotel and mainly, the title itself. The first half mainly revolves around a woman who steals some money and is traveling to get away with it. I'm sure that we all know about the shower scene. It is by far, one of the most iconic movie scenes ever. For the time, no one really cared for this movie because it was too ahead of the time. Now, it is considered to be one of the best horror movies ever made.
Cinematography: 10/10.
Editing: 9.9/10.
Acting: 10/10.
Set Designs: 10/10.
Entertainment value: 9/10.
Over all, It is another masterpiece by Alfred Hitchcock. One that has a huge legacy and started off the slasher sub-genera. 5/5 stars.
