Review of Prince of Darkness (1987) by Bill G — 29 Jan 2008
Probably John Carpenter's most underrated film (not to mention his scariest), Prince of Darkness is an immensely creepy and surprisingly thought-provoking apocalyptic thriller about a team of grad students trapped in an abandoned church with a cylinder of swirling green liquid that houses something very dark indeed.
Ranks alongside The Thing, Assault on Precinct 13, Escape From New York and The Fog as my five favorite Carpenter films.
