Review of Prince of Darkness (1987) by Senor C — 28 Sep 2010
John Carpenter in the 70s & early 80s was a fucking master but I don't know what happened; if he set the standard & couldn't sustain, if the projects just weren't there or if times just change.
Anyway you look @ it Prince of Darkness is a fine example of his decline. Although not bad it just isn't all that interesting & the acting isn't all that shit hot (even from Donald Pleasence) or maybe it's just the material they had to work with.
Jameson Parker was shit no doubt about it though. Look for Alice Cooper in a bit part. If people projectile spitting into one another mouths sounds like a good time to you by all means be my guest. For Carpenter completest mostly which Im becoming one of late watching this & the underwelming Village of the Damned this Shocktober.
