Review of Power Rangers (2017) by Fireantus — 24 Mar 2017
Once again the Critics prove that the audience should not really care about what they are writing. It is becoming quite a trend, doesn't it? It's like they want to prove to everyone that they are some kind of lofty elite, to whom a movie must be properly artsy and deep... Or at least an easy to pander brand... to give a good score. Look at "Beauty and the Beast"! It is quite a bad movie but hey - Disney and this is a classic story, right? Can't be all bad, eh?
So don't look at this wonky 44/100 critics give it, but at a healthy 7/10 people granted it. And it's a solid score - because new Power Rangers are not breaking any new grounds. They are not masterful, they are not shocking, they are not surprising.
But gods, are they FUN!
We get here everything anyone can ask for! Pretty dynamic script, fun dialouges, superb nods at the old fans of the vast franchise, solid (if quite overused and blatant) plot to carry the fun through. And the fun is in the fights, the jokes, the challenge.
I enjoyed it vastly and I truly believe you can enjoy it too - as long as you know what to expect, really. This is not a thick, heavy movie that want to teach you anything.
