Tonal issues notwithstanding, this surprisingly entertaining reimagining of the classic children's television show manages to bring some modest laughs along with a suitable handful of turn-your-brain-off action set pieces.

Props to all the actors involved for lending a grounded and somewhat believable hand to the wildly fantastical elements in play here. And, even though the film may frequently lean towards borrowing from other, far better films all throughout, there's enough confidence, panache, and sheen in the delivery of the final product to help convince you to look the other way.
