Review of Pontypool (2009) by Ryan C — 15 Oct 2010
Pontypool is a horror film from the inside-out. An Ontario radio station on the graveyard shift report increasingly bizarre events in the sleepy town of Pontypool, where seemingly only cold, snow and darkness exist. The most noteworthy story of the evening is a cat called Honey going missing.
What ensues is a rarely original zombie movie as big on unique ideas as scares. In an era when every movie experience must be visual, Pontypool is refreshing in that it makes you imagine, like a good book, and this lends it a great deal of suspense and creepiness.
