Review of Police Story (1985) by E.j. T — 13 Mar 2008

If you ever see just one Jackie Chan movie, do yourself a favor and find a good copy of the original 'Police Story'. There are probably only 2 or 3 real fights, so most of the emphasis is placed on the story.

It's a simple cop story, but it's still unique in it's presentation. It pulls it off completely! The comedy Jackie is so famous for is there and has never been sharper(not so much Three Stooges slapstick).

Then, it becomes dramatic as the criminals put Chan's rookie cop character through a series of events that push him over the edge and the entire end sequence is THE MOST EXCITING AND INTENSE SEQUENCE EVER PUT ON CELLULOID! Highly recommended! Chan at his best!
