Review of Police Story (1985) by Filippo V — 30 Mar 2016

Police Story is a masterpiece of action movies. I consider it as the most under appreciated action movie of all time.

I have not revisited Police Story for a long time, so I decided to spend my afternoon with it. Boy, I made the right (best) decision! Jackie Chan played with death for several times in this movie. I salute him for doing those deadly stunts. The fight scenes are jaw-dropping, brilliantly choreographed, and well-shot. Stunts are terrifying and deadly. While I was watching the action scenes, I was like - "Is this real? How the hell did they do that? Damn that must be painful!" Unlike most Jackie Chan's movies, Police Story has a strong storyline with good pacing. The plot is perfectly blended with the action. My heart was pounding from the amazing opening scene to the end of the movie.

But the movie indeed has flaws. It doesn't have a kick-ass soundtrack. That is the only problem for me. But I don't even care about it because this movie is freaking awesome.
