Review of Pickpocket (1959) by Rami R — 28 Jan 2007
Bresson is the master in ratcheting up mood and atmosphere, however character and plot are secondary concern for him at best. This in turn can make for a frustrating viewing experience if one is unprepared.
However, if one can sit and watch the exemplary technique of the film they are in for an intriguing viewing experience.
