Yes, the actual picking of pocket scenes are terrifically filmed in a ballet of slights and sights. However, what else is here that people shit their pants over? I found bupkis. The acting is so unbearably bad that it lead me to never care for a single solitary character.
I'd give Bresson another view but this one did not blow my skirt up like it does everyone else. Put down your monocles pretentious film nerds. This one goes right there with Bicycle Thief and 8 1/2 as the most overrated "classics".
