Review of Pickpocket (1959) by Alex M — 28 Apr 2010
Wanted to see this to see what the big fuss was about (supposedly Scorsese's Taxi Driver used certain cinematic techniques form this film). The pickpocket sequences are good and one can't help feel sorry for Martin LaSalle (a non professional actor), as the looser protagonist.
I like the sparse use of orchestrated music to usher in major milestones during the film.
