Review of Phantasm (1979) by John S — 03 Nov 2008
While not great cinema by any stretch of the imagination, this bizarre little movie has a devoted fan following and three sequels, and was responsible for character actor Angus "The Tall Man" Scrimm's election to the Horror Hall of Fame.
Like most of the other cult classics of the late Seventies and Eighties, -Phantasm- was made on a fishingline budget and was nearly buried by its big-budget sequels.
If this movie intrigues you, my advice is to skip the next two and go straight to -Phantasm: OblIVion-.
