It is interesting to note that all the features that made the fame of Tim Burton were already markedly present in "Pee-wee's Big Adventure," a light comedy and unpretentious, that was one of his early works and already shows signs of genius that filmmaker would tackle more complex subjects.
Pee-wee shows up the ideal character for Burton exercising his peculiar worldview that transforms beings bizarre and lonely heroes overflowing charisma.
A trip to a childish universe, but also stuffed hazards and vagaries that many times come very close to that is the essence of human nature.
