Review of Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985) by Seth Y — 14 Feb 2015
All these years later, Pee-wee's Big Adventure is still unlike anything else I've ever seen. Going hand in hand with the aura of the Pee-wee character, this film is bizarre, colorful, and at times, trippy as hell.
All that being said, I consider it a total comedy classic that I can never get tired of. Paul Reubens as Pee-wee is absolutely iconic. Whether you love him or hate him, there's no denying that. Not only is he at his best here, but this film also pairs him with a variety of unforgettable characters.
There is so much going on in this movie, that's why I love it. I've always considered this one of the easiest watches out there. So many fun scenarios and settings, it's really fantastic. This is Tim Burton's finest work and one of my all-time favorite comedies.
