Pather Panchali is the first Satyajit Ray film that I have seen. The score, by Ravi Shankar, is tremendous while the camera work reminds me, at once, of Citizen Kane and the work of Ozu. It is a heartfelt tale of a poor Indian family struggling to make ends meet.
