This movie is silent and gorgeous and brilliantly acted and erotic. It is not the tale of a man and a leopard who fall in love; the man falls in love with the leopard and all that she symbolizes; the desert and freedom from society's constraints.
That's part of the reason why the ending is so heartbreaking. I love this film.
