Review of Passion in the Desert (1997) by Becky E — 30 Jul 2008
Loved it so much the first time that I dreaded seeing it again. but it only proved as perfect and moving as before. ok, admitedly I love animals! but its beyond that. there is just such poetry and generosity in this tale of passion that you have to be really brutish not to be sucked in.
it's nearly entirely shot in petra (jordan), how much dreamier can it get? the music by jose nieto is one of the best ost i've heard and is spiritual without being corny. see it. try it. give it a chance.
it might not do it for you. but if it does, you'll adore it.
