Review of Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) by Alex S — 25 Mar 2018

I was not expecting much when I decided to go see Pacific Rim Uprising with my friend Saturday. I thought the first movie was an okay action flick that seemed to wrap up the whole plot so I was a bit curious about this one but meerely expected a bunch of CGI action with some loose plot elements. Boy was I in for a an amazing surprise!

This movie takes the time to flesh out the universe it takes place in much more than the first one. You get a great feel for the state of the world after the events of the first movie and why each character is driven to thier roll. I was not expecting plot twists at all and twords the end of the movie I was on the edge of my seat with excitement and suspense. When the credits started to roll I looked over at my friend, he looked back, and we simultaneously went "wow". I can't even imagine what the third movie will be like but I can definitely say while Uprising wasn't even on my radar, Pacific Rim 3 will be a day one viewing for me for sure!
