Review of Our Souls at Night (2017) by Cindi N — 30 Sep 2017
A fine film that will appeal to the older set, showing how life is, or can be, with all the good and bad. A tender film that shows love can happen, can sneak up on you, no matter your age. Good script, and of course great acting.
Fonda particularly is amazing. She inhabits her characters, who are so unlike the actress. Every sentence sounds natural. For the younger set, do not thnk that Redford has aged tremendously this past year.
He is acting...to be a bit more doddery, a bit more closed, a bit more ordinary than the actor is. My one complaint is the ending. I'll leave it at that, so as not to spoil it for others. Oh, and there are funny parts, too.
