Dumisa’s film debut “Number 37” is very impressive. Based in Cape Town, a paraplegic man is given a pair of binoculars by his girlfriend. As he looks out from his apartment window, he observes his South African community.
When he witnesses a murder, he begins to blackmail the murderer for money to pay off his debt. This film is intense, violent, and unpredictable. I was constantly on the edge of my seat.
