Review of No One Killed Jessica (2011) by Adwait K — 13 Jan 2011
The most realistic depiction of Delhi that I've seen. Having stayed here for a year, I've noticed there is an inherent denial among Delhiites to accept the flaws of the city, be ith the rampant sexual harassment, the conspicuous flaunting of wealth (mostly undeserved), the wielding of unabashed power in the pursuit of vicarious desires/vices.
This movie portrays each frame of this seedy side of Delhi which dominates society and life here. Though there is a lot of good in Delhi, it definitely doesn't exist in the corridors of the rich and famous and the cowardly socialites who flaunt ethics/righteousness as a matter of convenience.
I loved this movie as a true honest portrayal of Delhi life/lingo and culture. "Yaar, sab free fund kholkar laal batti ki gaddi mein ghumna chahte, toh hum naacheez kya karein.".
