Review of Night and the City (1950) by Christopher S — 26 Feb 2009
Film noir classic from director Jules Dassin features screen icon Richard Widmark in possibly is greatest performance. Tightly-plotted with memorable characters (particularly Googie Withers' ambitious gangster's moll), excellent black and white cinematography, and great use of London locations.
A true classic, and required viewing for film noir fans.
