Review of Network (1976) by Robert W — 27 Mar 2010
Paddy Chayevsky, my favorite screenwriter, makes my top ten twice. "Network" is about as different from "Marty" as a film can be, yet the strengths of Chayevsky are highlighted in both.
Vivid and realistic characters speaking clever, natural and meaningful dialog. Sidney Lumet is a brilliant director perfectly suited to Chayevskyâ??s style. Both worked prominently in live TV in the fifties.
