Review of Near Dark (1987) by Steve W — 02 Apr 2009
An excellent vampire western. Bill Paxton and Lance Henriksen makes some good vampires, as well as the underrated Adrian Pasdar as the unlikely hero who gets himself in way over his head. The word "vampire" is actually never used, and the film avoids many cliches and portrays the vampires as realistically as possible.
They get bored, they play cards, they feast on human prey. A very cool and awesome 80's vampire flick.
