Short of feelings of a generic cop thriller during the scenes following the opening scene this is quite an entertaining cop thriller. It keeps you guessing . Once you think the movie is over there is another swerve which is rare for common cop thrillers.
And while I don't want to take away rumors that Jason Patric was considered by many to be Oscar worthy in his performance, this might be one of Ray Liotta's shining performances. THe other being Goodfellas.
Cop thrillers dont get much better then this.
