Review of Narc (2002) by David B — 11 Feb 2013
This compelling, top-notch police thriller is a pulse-pounding pleasure from start to finish, concerning a cop (Jason Patric) chasing after a perp. It's a simple premise, but it's more than that courtesy of director Joe Carnahan who fills this film with the same palpable sense of urgency that powered police classics like The French Connection.
Narc is a no-nonsense throwback to those great films from the 1970's, one that speeds along with B-movie verve, but also laced with telling details. Patric digs into his best role, and Ray Liotta is all kinds of dynamite as a cop with motives of his own. Get crckin'.
